Acupuncture is an ancient science that dates back several thousands of years.  Simply put, it is the process of placing very fine needles into “points” that are usually along a “meridian” in the body.  Meridians are pathways in the body through which energy or “Qi”(pronounced “chi”) flows. It is imbalance of the “Qi” that causes pain and disease. Placement of needles into specific acupuncture points helps to balance the “Qi” of the body.

Acupuncture helps support the natural healing of the body.  It is very useful for relieving pain and swelling in acute injuries or trauma.  It also helps to correct long term imbalances in the body that have resulted in chronic or painful conditions.  Dogs with hip dysplasia and arthritis respond very well to acupuncture.
