Electrical stimulation(E-Stim) is the process of applying a small electrical current to muscles which stimulates those muscles to contract.  E-Stim is useful in many different patients including those recovering from joint surgery, patients with healing fractures, and neurological patients.  The use of E-Stim helps alleviate pain, swelling, and muscle spasm, promotes improved blood circulation, and slows down muscle atrophy or shrinkage.
